Seni Neekiema & 'Alidou' Ouédraogo

Seni and Alidou are a joint enterprise of artisans who share a workshop, working in leather and calabasse decoration (the decoration
of traditional bowls). The pair have had their workshop for 10 years and started working together as artisans when Seni was 20 and Alidou was 30. Before that, Alidou used to work weaving sunbeds and chairs.

It takes the men about 2 days to make a leather bag and they receive lots of private orders for  their belts and bags from burkinabé customers. Through working with Tigoung Nonma they have been able to secure many more orders.

Seni has a wife who used to work at the Tigoung Nonma kiosk before she became pregnant and Alidou is not married. Alidou has also had some schooling funded through Handicap Solidaire Suisse, although Seni has never been to school.
