Zénabou Bassolet

Zénabou represents a group of 3 disabled women who work together making fabric dolls as well as crochetting bags and bowls from
recycled plastic bags. The women used to rent a workshop but since February 2013, when the landlord decided to sell the land, they have been working outside on the street.

It takes the ladies 2 days to make a small purse or bowl, and their products are sold in the Tigoung Nonma shop.

Zénabou herself has been an artisan for 35 years, having had to leave school after completing primary education as she couldn't walk and had nobody who could take her to school.

She has been a member of Tigoung Nonma since 2005 and is now married with 2 children, one of whom is grown-up.
